Last week in my 20’s Day 3.

I feel so fortunate to have made the friends I have in my 20’s.  I’ve moved around a lot and that has given me the opportunity to connect and meet so many different people in so many different parts of the country. Today is all about being grateful for those friends!

I couldn’t even begin to list all my friends who I love so dearly. Just know that if we still talk, you are my bestie for life!  I’ve really learned how to pick and choose those friends that build me up and make me better. That all comes through experience both good and bad.

After I was done swimming at UW I had made a promise to myself to only surround myself with those that love me for who I am. To stay connected to those that create good vibes.  That no matter how far away we are, we would always pick up where we left off. You know who you are!

I have friends that are always down to do crazy adventures with me. Running some crazy race or checking out some fun band or meeting me at the gym. I have loved growing with these lovely people and it’s fun to watch them grow into life and find what we love.  They inspire me every day to do something awesome, to be awesome and find awesome.

I’ve also been lucky to make some really wonderful NEW friends over the years.  It’s funny how things change when you have a baby and the bonds you make with other mothers.  But it is so important! My awesome friend in Chicago, I would have been a mess without her when we moved there. We quickly bonded over our huge pregnant bellies, took our puppies on walks and then were there for each other once our babies arrived! She will forever be in my life even if she is a 4-5 hour plane ride away. And my new Fit4Mom friends, what an amazing group of women! They made moving back to Portland as a new mom the easiest move of them all. They are so kind, welcoming, and inspiring. Anytime I have an issue, a question or I’m struggling, they are there for me. I love this group!

Friends are an important part of your 20’s.  You go through a lot of them but I think that’s a good thing.  You really do find those that you are connected with the most.  Those people that will be with you forever and hopefully ever.  To share the biggest parts of your lives together.  Find those that make you better and don’t let go!  We all need a friend to grow old and laugh at life with.

To all my friends – thank you for being you! I love you so much and I am so happy to have you in my life! You are all bada$$!!
