Traveling and moving have been a huge part of my 20’s. Especially the moving part. I have been all over the west coast, Boston and Chicago. When people used to ask me where I’m from I used to just tell them that I’m a west coast girl!
I lived and went to school in Seattle, lived in Hood River, OR, San Diego, Orange County, Boston, Sacramento, San Quentin, San Francisco, Petaluma, Chicago and now Portland. And I’m glad I lived in each and every single one of those spots. There was a great opportunity that presented itself in every place and we went for it. I also met some wonderful people, got to experience different cultures in the U.S. and become a pro-packer. You would think we would have less stuff in our house but we somehow accumulated more!
I can’t urge people enough in their 20’s to take risks and go for whatever it is that they are chasing. Even if it means a move. It’s ok to move and try a new place. If you don’t like it, it’s ok to move back in with mom and dad! lol. Or maybe not, I’ll leave that up to you. But we now know what to look for in each move. We know what kind of house we like being in, the neighborhoods we like most and the amenities that we need. My husband and are kind of picky about it now. But I think that’s a good thing.
Don’t want to move? Travel. Go wherever it is you want to go. Save your money in whatever way possible and just go. We get so much experience in life from traveling and moving. We really begin to figure out who we are and what we want to do. And most importantly travel with the one you love. You will most definitely find out what you are in for in your later years and it’s so valuable. MD and I are such an awesome duo at moving and traveling now. We flow. We vibe. We have a shit ton of fun.
So, go! Get out there. Go do what you want, be who you want to be. Fuck everybody else who tries to stop you. You always have mom and dad’s house 😉
